Gianfranco Gorgoni (–) The Italian photographer Gianfranco Gorgoni, who was the premiere documenter of major Land art works—including Robert Smithson’s Spiral Jetty, , and Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s Running Fence, —has died at age in Rome, Gorgoni moved to the US in to produce a photographic essay and stayed after a chance encounter with The artist Christo and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, are being sued by photographer Gianfranco Gorgoni for copyright infringement, writes Dan Duray of the Art Newspaper.
